Q2: Storage and megapixels
Storage = 1024 × 1024 × 24 bits = 25,165,824 bits = 3,145,728 bytes = 3 MB. A 2000 × 3000 image has 6,000,000 pixels, which is 6 megapixels.
Q4: Histogram equalization
The 4 × 4 image has 16 pixels and 10 gray levels. Using s = round(9 × CDF/16), the mapping is 1→1, 2→3, 3→5, 4→7, 5→7, 6→8, 7→9. The levels spread over 1–9, so contrast improves.
Q8: Forgy's method
Starting from seeds (3,3) and (6,8), the algorithm converges in 3 iterations. Cluster 1 = {(4,4), (5,7), (5,5), (2,2)} with centroid (4, 4.5). Cluster 2 = {(11,11), (13,11), (18,16), (20,18)} with centroid (15.5, 14).
Q13: Haar transform in one line
The Haar transform repeatedly averages and differences pairs. For [9, 7, 3, 5] it gives [6, 2, 1, −1], and its matrix is orthogonal (H·HT = I).
