Last dates and how to submit
For the July 2026 session, the assignment deadline is 31 October 2026. For the January 2027 session, check the date in your assignment booklet or on the IGNOU website, because IGNOU sometimes extends deadlines. We post every change under Last Dates.
Follow the submission method in your programme's assignment booklet: study centre submission for MCA_NEW, or online submission for MCAOL. Always keep a copy of what you submit.
How to use these guides well
- Download your assignment booklet from IGNOU first, and check your exact assignment number, such as MCA_NEW(I)/211/Assign/2026.
- Read the guide to understand what each question is testing.
- Write your answers in your own words. Identical answers submitted by many students can be rejected.
- Match your answers to your course material and the marks for each question (usually 5 marks each).
- Prepare for the viva voce, which carries 20 marks.

Which session do these guides cover?
The July 2026 and January 2027 sessions (the 2026-27 assignment cycle). Some older guides are being updated to this cycle.
Are MCA_NEW and MCAOL assignments the same?
The courses and codes are the same. The submission method and the assignment number format can differ, so follow your own booklet.
Do lab courses have assignments?
Yes. Each MCSL lab course has its own assignment. The Semester 4 project (MCSP-232) does not.
When will the missing guides be published?
